Wedding Venues Auckland
Mantells & Waiheke Island options
October 2010
Depending on you and your future spouse’s own personal style, there are a huge number of wedding venues dotted around Auckland that come highly recommended.
Super centrally located, Mantells is situated in the middle of Mt Eden shopping centre and is like stepping into another world.
Despite their huge popularity as a venue they accept only one function per day, and are also BYO with no corkage charge, which makes for an attractive option when you’re feeding and watering a crowd. Chefs Annie Mantell [owner of the acclaimed French Cafe for sixteen years], John and Tania have years of experience in the preparation and service of fine food, and their extensive fixed menu options are to die for.
It’s definitely a great option as a one-stop shop too, as ceremonies can happen in the courtyard if the weather is behaving, or in their spacious, elegant lounge and dining room areas during the cooler months.
The Mantell family have also recently opened the jaw droppingly beautiful Mantells On The Water, on the pier in Auckland city, which is perfect for a summer wedding.
Waiheke Island is home to two of Auckland’s most popular destination wedding venues, the very traditional Mudbrick or more modern Cable Bay. The island is just a 35-minute ferry ride away, so you and your guests will be transported away from the hustle and bustle of the city to a picturesque venue with spectacular views that provide the ideal backdrop to your special day.
