Mid Winter Christmas

A great excuse to get together

June 2010 - Last updated: 8/06/2012

Holding your own mid Winter Christmas is a good excuse to gobble some turkey, tackle a plum pudding and share a few wines ….it’s also great if you’re an expat living in Auckland who misses the tradition in December. Here are a few restaurants in Auckland worth considering …..

Waitakere Estate
Waitakere Estate in Waiatarua is holding Mid Winter Christmas celebrations throughout June and July. There’s great options on the menu and of course the traditional Christmas Plum Pudding. Reservations essential.

Soljans Estate Winter Wine Fair
6 July - 22 July 2012

For something different, take part in the exciting Winter Wine Fair at Soljans Estate. There is heaps happening around the winery including free wine tasting, free mulled wine, wine price discounts, competitions and more.

Northridge Country Lodge
For your mid winter work function, consider a meal at Northridge Country Lodge. A minimum of 25 people are required to dine on their special Mid Winter Christmas setting and reservations are essential. Depending on numbers, the price per head will be advised at the time of your booking.

Valentines
A buffet meal is often the best way to celebrate with friends and family, as there are always plenty of options to satisfy. Valentines is holding its special Mid Winter Feast this year, everyday throughout the months of June and July. Expect roast turkey with all the trimmings and traditional Christmas desserts!

Fortuna
Sky City’s Fortuna Restaurant is not organising their Mid Winter Christmas Menu this year, but there’s a daily roast on their regular buffet menu. Located in the centre of town, it’s the perfect excuse to gather your nearest and dearest and create your own mini Christmas

The Bay Restaurant
The Bay Restaurant in Waiake is just the place if quality seafood and succulent steaks are your thing. It's a cosy space with an indoor fireplace and seating for around 65 people, so The Bay is ideal for a Mid Winter Christmas meal, especially if you've got a largish group.
