It's Valentines Day this weekend and what better way to show your love than a romantic meal for two at one of Auckland's fine dining restaurants. Soljans Estate

Definitely the place to wine and dine. Peter Gordan's restaurant located in the Sky City Grand Hotel offers outstanding service with gorgeous food, and has one of the best wine lists in town.
The French Cafe
Beautiful food and impeccable service is automatically associated with three charming words: The French Cafe. The French Cafe offers contemporary European cuisine in a sophisticated and intimate environment. You'll score top brownie points with this one.
Vinnies Restaurant
Vinnies has long had a reputation for exquisite food and is an ideal venue for a cosy dinner with your significant other. A perfect dining experience.
Merediths Restaurant
Normally closed on Sundays, Merediths will open especially for Valentines Day for a fancy dinner from 6pm. They will be serving a four course set menu which includes a glass of champagne. Bookings are essential so don't miss out.
Mollies Hotel Restaurant
Previously the reserve of in-house guests, Mollies gourmet cuisine is now accessible to the general public for romantic dining. You can also book a private dining suite if you wish to take it up a notch.
Vertigo
For a spice of romance with a view, head to Vertigo in the Mecure Hotel, Customs Street. The menu on offer is superb and the view across the City and surrounding harbour is simply stunning.
Picnic for two
If you just seek the company of each other on Valentine's Day, Auckland has many a perfect spot to plonk yourself down on a rug with a picnic or takeaway. Spots like Bastion Point, Mission Bay, Cheltenham beach, Mt Eden and Auckland Domain provide a picturesque backdrop with great food options available from the deli at Cafe on Kohi, Sabato Mt Eden, Pyrenees French Deli in Devonport and The Fish Pot Cafe Mission Bay.
