  Quite possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had.

  My meal was served burnt, to the point where I could smell it as the waitress placed it in front of me. When I raised concern about this, the Maitre D' informed me that my fish was not burnt it was "chargrilled". I showed her the black "chargrill" lines on my fish and told her to smell the fish, and she told me that my meal was fine and once again that it was just chargrilled - it a tone that suggested I had never eaten grilled fish before (which is funny because I have dined many times in France and have never had my fish chargrilled like this!!!). I asked for a replacement of my meal and she rudely took my plate away. On her way back to the front of the restaurant she said to me "I have asked the cheff to cook your meal differently as you don't like your fish chargrilled"! On top of this, because we had a large group the Maitre D' had informed my friend that corkage would be $5 - on paying for the meals she charged us $10/bottle and was extremely rude. All of the other meals were delicious but the evening was spoilt by the Maitre D' whose service was worse than that found at a McDonalds in a third world country.

  Excellent French Food and B YO

  Fantastic food and one of the few good places in Auckland that are BYO. Try the tart tartin - yum.
