Auckland's finest seafood
A city with twin harbours needs a great, consistently great restaurant for seafood.

What does that require?

Great seafood, on the plate, consistently. Simple really. But very rare. It must be fresh, handled as the delicate easily tainted produce it is.

As I said great, it must also be delicious in execution, showing each element and specific characteristics of a given, fish, shellfish to their best. Presented appetisingly and imaginatively.

The menu and selection needs to change, to reflect a kitchen and chefs that travel, that dine out, that are as hungry for idea and insight as diners like me are for fine seafood.

Tick every box. Then add in the nice to haves. A water view, comfortable seating, outdoor, sun drenched an dsalt air dining. Great, comprehensive, wine list wiht prices for every budgetary requirement or ocassion.

Attentive, professional and informative service. Harbourside is a large and long lived establishment, the type of place that can employ experienced professionals.

Yes I go there a lot. You should too. Oh and get on the mailing list, their promotions are worth being invited to.

Excellent!
Myself and my partner received a voucher for The Harbourside as a gift so decided to book in for Saturday night. When we got there we were seated in the fab bar area and served our drinks before being taken to our table on the balcony that had amazing views over the harbour. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and the food was to die for! The menu isn't cheap but the quality of food that you're served means it's well worth the cost. Would definitely recommend a visit here.
