  Good Place

  Went here last night for a few christmas drinks. It's a definite upgrade from the dark days of Safari Lounge and offered some nice drinks with great service. I preferred the outdoor part to staying indoors as it was a cool area to relax and drink the night away.

  There is a certain pretentiousness about the place which usually comes with a "new" bar in Auckland so don't be to concerned about this. I would also say that it lacks a bit of personality but if you are looking for a solid nights drinking with bunches of girls on the prowl then this is your place.

  Returned Saturday night. It's a popular spot and it was as busy as hell having to politely queue for a bit both outside the gate, and at the bar. Once I had my drink I calmed down and the DJ set was awesome.

  A good time at the Longroom

  I had one of those terrible headaches the other day. The kind which starts off behind your eye then moves onto your brain, and threatens to take over the left-hand side of your body. Don't feel sorry for me though, as it was all entirely self induced, thanks to a few impromptu drinks at Ponsonby's new it bar: The Longroom.

  We decided to take advantage of their opening special - buy one bottle get another bottle FREE Tuesday Champagne deal. Hence the headache.

  In all honesty the bar is quite noisy and I didn't like the decor that much, but the staff are very friendly, the wee snacks are delicious (the risotto was well tasty), and it has a positive vibe. I'll be back again some time soon when it's warmer so we can sit outside.
