Small venue but nice for seeing bands up close
Watching bands at The Crib for a local band competition was really good – the staff were nice, the atmosphere was friendly and intimate (so you felt like having a chat to the stranger next to you) and the sound quality was wonderful.

The stage is small so larger-piece bands might have to squish up a bit but the low-level of the stage gave a laidback feel. This venue would also suit acoustic nights. Parking wasn’t bad on the Sunday night and got a spot down the hill on the side street right next to it. Fri and Sat nights might be busier so may have to walk a bit.

The location also means you can wander across to other bars or head to the Crib after dinner at one of Ponsonby Rd’s fancy restaurants or takeaway outlets. Overall, highly recommended for your next slice of live Kiwi music.
